SATURN / CRONUS THE BAD GUY

SATURN/CRONUS - THE BAD GUY

In traditional astrology, Saturn was the “bad guy” of the planets. And everything that Saturn touched was sure to be soured. In mythology, Cronus (known to the Romans as Saturn) was the nasty, ruthless father of the 12 Olympian gods. Ultimately, one of his sons that would become Zeus.

Fast forward, and Satan ... I mean Saturn ... underwent a “face-lift” but strikes fear in the hearts of many people. You see, Saturn still symbolizes esoterically, the growth process and lessons learned through painful or difficult experiences. Saturn is much more concerned with the growth of our soul, than it/he is with our personal comfort or ease.

Archetypal Saturn points to all the open sores and cherished old wounds where we feel the most vulnerable to attack in our unconscious Mind. And when other people step (accidentally or purposely) on our “sore spots” - we instinctively react like the proverbial “wounded animal caught in a trap.”

Even if someone nice were to come along, wanting to release us from our trap - then, purely out of blind instinct, pain (panic) and fear, we'd end up biting and attacking our compassionate and well-meaning Samaritan. (Remember, these are "cherished" old wounds.) And all the while, we thought we were simply defending ourselves.

You may have heard the term the “Shadow of the Psyche.” In Jungian psychology, the shadow (also known as id, shadow aspect, or shadow archetype) is either an unconscious aspect of the personality that the conscious ego does not identify in itself; or the entirety of the unconscious Mind. Everything of which a person is not fully conscious. In short, the “shadow” is the unknown side.

And just so we're clear on things - all of the planets and zodiac signs have their own “shadow” sides. Over the years, Saturn (and Pluto) has been used to being treated as '”scapegoats” and as “uninvited gods.”

When we attempt to sweep Saturn under the rug, then (as is true with all the planets), Saturn shows us his harsher face. Saturn, then, reflects a Shadow aspect of the Psyche that loves to point out our many, manifold weaknesses, fears, and sins. Saturn becomes our angry internal (infernal) father intent on eating up all of our potential and our creativity. We experience Saturn as an angry, judgmental parent thats likely to point out and remind us of all our many flaws and shortcomings.

Saturn also easily qualifies as the nastier side of Santa Claus that only rewards those good children that can display flawless and perfect behavior - and so he leaves the rest of us a “lump of coal” in our Christmas stocking, because we've been very, very bad this year.

You'd better watch out
You'd better not cry
You'd better not pout
and I'm telling you why!
'Saturn' Claus is coming to town!

I realize this image of Santa is a bit tough to digest, since our society's image of Jolly Saint Nick has been seriously “Jupiterized” over the years ... but nonetheless ... study it a bit and you will see the correlation.

We've all heard our internal Saturn's angry, condemning voice - reminding us of just how “whatever” we are (or they are). It's never nice, always demeaning. This is our personal Satan/Saturn - the ego. This is in direct opposition to the Higher-Self (Divine) that still small voice of love and compassionate support and insight. Our Divine Self, is our intuition. We should pay more attention to it as we recognize the Saturn of our ego base-nature self.

THETA BRAINWAVE STATE

THETA STATE

From the moment we are born into flesh, and up until the age of around 7, we are operating out of our Theta brainwave state. This is essentially - a continuous state of hypnosis. Meaning, a total state of open programmability. Everything we experience, from whomever, wherever, whenever ... becomes a program in our subconscious Mind. These programs help form who we become.

The Jesuits use to say “give me the child until the age of 7 and I'll show you the man.” They knew how effective this programming is. At least until we have enough power in our consciousness to override it, to reprogram the programs, to change and move away from the thinking that does not serve us, or others.

This is not such an easy job. Our Mind, is subdivided. And when push comes to shove, our conscious Mind, our awareness, counts for about 5% of total Mind. That's about 40 bits of info. Our subconscious Mind, is about 95% of total Mind and accounts for about 40 million bits of info. Quite the dominant machine. So, how do we reprogram something that huge, with so little power in our conscious awareness?

Two of the easiest ways are hypnosis, and meditation. We have to reassign a NEW perspective to our OLD ways of thinking. Our conscious Mind is where we reside. It is the seat of our consciousness. That being said, what about the Subconscious Mind? It is a machine, filled with programs. Nobody is home there ... only programs. Reprogram the Subconscious Mind, and tell the body that YOU are in charge, and you will see a massive shift. This is fact. The Theta State that you can reach via meditation and hypnosis, is the doorway to the subconscious Mind. Knock, and the door shall be opened.

NAME ORIGINS OF MONTHS AND DAYS

NAME ORIGINS OF MONTHS AND DAYS

Did you ever wonder why the months and days are named the way they are? When you see the answers, you might be surprised.

Meanings of our Months:

The word “Month” comes from the word “Moon” so our Months should be from New Moon to New Moon.

JANUARY
Named for the Roman god Janus, “god of doorways” and new beginnings.

FEBRUARY
Named for the Roman festival of purification “Februa.”  The first day of the Carnival season is always January 6th (which is twelve days after Christmas). This is called the Twelfth Night (Kings Night).

MARCH
Named for the Roman God Mars, who was the god of war and guardian of the state. Mars was the Father of Romulus and Remus, the founders of Rome.

APRIL
From the Roman calendar month of Aprilis. Considered a sacred month for the goddess Venus. April also comes from the Latin word aperire meaning “to open” refering to a spring season, opening of the flowers and leaves.

MAY
Named for the Greek goddess Maia, the daughter of Atlas and one of the Pleiades.

JUNE
Named for the goddess Juno, wife of Jupiter and queen of the heavens and gods.

JULY
Named for Julius Caesar in 44 BC. The month originally had the Roman name of Quintilis (meaning five).

AUGUST
Named for the Roman Emperor Augustus in 8 BC. The month was formerly known as Sextilis ( meaning six).

SEPTEMBER
From the Latin word “septem” meaning seven, which was the seventh month of the calendar. (Yet we use it as the ninth month)

OCTOBER
From the Greek word “octo” meaning eight, which was the eight month of the calendar. (Yet we use it as the tenth month)

NOVEMBER
From the Latin word “novem” meaning nine, which was the nineth month of the calendar. (Yet we use it as the eleventh month)

DECEMBER
From the Greek word “decca,” and the Latin word “decum”  meaning ten, which was the tenth month of the calendar. (Yet we use it as the twelfth month)

The Seven-Day Week:

The Babylonians marked time with lunar months, as opposed to the Romans who used Solar calendars as we do today. They proscribed some activities during several special days of the month, particularly:

First - the first visible crecent, seventh - the waxing half moon, fourteenth - the full moon, nineteenth - dedicated to an offended goddess, twenty-first - the waning half moon, twenty-eigth - the last visible crecent, twenty-nineth - the invisible moon, and thirtieth (possibly) - the invisible moon.

The major periods are seven days, 1/4 month, long. This seven-day period was later regularized and disassociated from the lunar month to become our seven-day week. There are actually 4.3 weeks to an average months.

The Naming of the Days:

The Greeks named the days of the week after the sun, the moon and the five known planets at the time, which were in turn named after the gods Ares, Hermes, Zeus, Aphrodite, and Cronus. The Greeks called the days of the week the Theon hemerai “days of the Gods.” The Romans then substituted their own equivalent gods for the Greek gods, Mars, Mercury, Jove (Jupiter), Venus, and Saturn. The two pantheons are very similar. The Germanic peoples generally substituted roughly similar gods for the Roman gods, Tiu (Twia), Woden, Thor, Freya (Fria), but did not substitute Saturn. so the list goes like this:

Sunday - Sun's day
Middle English sone(n)day or sun(nen)day
Old English sunnandæg “day of the sun”
Germanic sunnon-dagaz “day of the sun”
Latin dies solis “day of the sun”

Tuesday - Tiu's day
Middle English tiwesday or tewesday
Old English tiwesdæg “Tiw's (Tiu's) day”
Latin dies Martis “day of Mars”
Ancient Greek hemera Areos “day of Ares”
Tiu (Twia) is the English/Germanic god of war and the sky. He is identified with the Norse god Tyr.
Ares, Greek god of war.
Mars is the Roman god of war. Ares is the Greek god of war.

Wednesday - Woden's day
Middle English wodnesday, wednesday, or wednesdai
Old English wodnesdæg “Woden's day”
Latin dies Mercurii “day of Mercury”
Ancient Greek hemera Hermu “day of Hermes”
Woden is the chief Anglo-Saxon/Teutonic god. Woden is the leader of the Wild Hunt. Woden is from wod “violently insane” + -en “headship.” He is identified with the Norse Odin.
Mercury is the Roman god of commerce, travel, theivery, eloquence and science. He is the messenger of the other gods.
Hermes is the Greek god of commerce, invention, cunning, and theft. He is the messenger and herald of the other gods. He serves as patron of travelers and rogues, and as the conductor of the dead to Hades.

Thursday - Thor's day
Middle English thur(e)sday
Old English thursdæg
Old Norse thorsdagr “Thor's day”
Old English thunresdæg “thunder's day”
Latin dies Jovis “day of Jupiter”
Ancient Greek hemera Dios “day of Zeus”
Thor is the Norse god of thunder. He is represented as riding a chariot drawn by goats and wielding the hammer Miölnir. He is the defender of the Aesir, destined to kill and be killed by the Midgard Serpent.
Jupiter (Jove) is the supreme Roman god and patron of the Roman state. He is noted for creating thunder and lightning.
Zeus is Greek god of the heavens and the supreme Greek god.

Friday - Freya's day
Middle English fridai
Old English frigedæg “Freya's day”
composed of Frige (genetive singular of Freo) + dæg “day” (most likely)
or composed of Frig “Frigg” + dæg “day” (least likely)
Germanic frije-dagaz “Freya's (or Frigg's) day”
Latin dies Veneris “Venus's day”
Ancient Greek hemera Aphrodites “day of Aphrodite”
Freo is identical with freo, meaning free. It is from the Germanic frijaz meaning “beloved, belonging to the loved ones, not in bondage, free.”
Freya (Fria) is the Teutonic goddess of love, beauty, and fecundity (prolific procreation). She is identified with the Norse god Freya. She is leader of the Valkyries and one of the Vanir. She is confused in
Germany with Frigg.
Frigg (Frigga) is the Teutonic goddess of clouds, the sky, and conjugal (married) love. She is identified with Frigg, the Norse goddess of love and the heavens and the wife of Odin. She is one of the Aesir. She is confused in Germany with Freya.
Venus is the Roman goddess of love and beauty.
Aphrodite (Cytherea) is the Greek goddess of love and beauty.

Saturday - Saturn's day
Middle English saterday
Old English sæter(nes)dæg “Saturn's day”
Latin dies Saturni “day of Saturn”
Ancient Greek hemera Khronu “day of Cronus”
Saturn is the Roman and Italic god of agriculture and the consort of Ops. He is believed to have ruled the earth during an age of happiness and virtue.
Cronus (Kronos, Cronos) is the Greek god (Titan) who ruled the Universe until dethroned by his son Zeus.

And there you have it. Planets, Gods, Celestial Affairs, Multicultural, and you probably had no clue as to where these common everyday names came from. Hopefully, this will clear things up a bit.

The ancient "Sabbath" was on Saturday for the Hebrews. Saturnday was reserved for the time when people worshipped the god Saturn which eventually led to the rings around our fingers at marriage, and the halos and the sacred eternal 360 degree circle of god and the Zodiac. After the adoption of Roman re-written Christianity, things were change to worship the Sun of God ... as Jesus represented. The center of the Zodiacal Sun surrounded by the 12 houses of the Zodiac - the 12 Apostles.

RESIST NOT EVIL

RESIST NOT EVIL?

"Resist Not Evil" - What Does This Mean?

“As a man thinketh in his heart so is he...” Proverbs 23:7

Whatever a man thinks, he creates.

Whatever a person focuses on, that, he shall have.

This is such a simple concept and yet we have not grasped it. Jesus was quoted as saying, “Resist NOT evil.” WHY did he say that? And why do we continue to resist it?

The word “resist” here is key. He knew that in our resistance and focus, we will create MORE of what we are actually NOT wanting. THINK ABOUT THAT.

Let me explain further: The human being is endowed with this “pearl of great price,” something that has been forming within the human race for eons. This “treasure” hidden within the human field is the ability to create. Whatever the human focuses his/her thought and emotion upon he/she creates MORE of what he/she thinks about.

Let’s say a woman experiences betrayal and thinks about the circumstances of the betrayal time and time again, and feels the pain, and sheds the tears because of the pain she re-lives. There is a deep cry coming from within her being that is actually requesting, ASKING to be betrayed!

The Universe does not discriminate. It hears the vibrational request because a human being is focusing thought and emotional currency into - in this case - being betrayed. And the answer is YES. It is always yes. Our subconscious Mind cannot accept “not” or “won’t” … it accepts the thought … in a positive light … and delivers. It is based on image, or picture graphics. You cannot draw a picture of someone NOT swimming. They are either swimming, or doing something else. In this same way, the subconscious Mind and Universe cannot deliver to you ... something that you DON’T want.

The more we think about war … the more war we get. Think about PEACE, and in that way we can eradicate war by manifesting peace instead.

Scripture, in Philippians 4:8 says “take every thought captive” and to “... think/meditate on things that are pure, lovely and of a good report.” There is good reason for this.

If you are focusing on betrayal for example, you are actually sending a detailed plea for more of the same. You must cease focusing on betrayal and begin focusing on loyalty and integrity in order to receive it.

Albert Einstein said: “The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again, but expecting different results.”

Don’t like where you are? Don’t like the ways things are? Then change your thinking.

Dr. Wayne Dyer said “Change The Way You Look At Things And The Things You Look At Change”.

If we truly grasp the mechanics of creation, then we will maintain our focus on GOOD things. Focusing on things we deem as evil/bad will attract more of it to us, and we will ultimately receive whatever it is that we “ask” for ... good, or un-good.

The reason that so many people focus on the negative things is because we have an ego that recognizes right and wrong, good and evil. “The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.” We must remove this wrong thinking ruler from the throne of our humanity, and let the ego be a servant to us rather than a master of us.

GENESIS AND THE BIG BANG

GENESIS AND THE BIG BANG

Big Bang Theory

“A cosmological theory holding that the universe originated approximately 20 billion years ago from the violent explosion of a very small accumulation of matter of extremely high density and temperature. It has been estimated that the earth is about 3.5 to 5 billions years old.”

Genesis Hebrew Old Testament:

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and void, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, ‘let there be light,’ and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light ‘day,’ and the darkness he called ‘night.’ And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.”

We have been taught that the Big Bang theory and the creation story found in Genesis are two completely different accounts of how the Universe was created. In recent times, science and religion have represented two extreme polar opposites. However, this was not always the case. Only in recent history has there been the development of a schism between science and religion. Science used to be a way people studied God's creation; now, it's what some people use to try to disprove God.

The Big Bang Theory and the creation story are essentially two different accounts of the very SAME EVENT. They are ultimately the very same thing. They may represent different worldviews and perspectives, but they describe the same manifestation of Life.

This may sound strange to you, considering the way you have been conditioned to believe in one or the other. If you are a creationist, you “believe” solely in the Bible. If you're a scientific materialist, an atheist, etc., you believe solely in “science.” How can we reconcile these two seemingly opposite theories of creation ... particularly if they are essentially saying the same thing only in a different way?

If we look at the biblical creation story, we have to remember that it is essentially just a Hebrew rendition of older creation stories borrowed from the Egyptians, Mesopotamians, Greeks, etc. These civilizations existed long before the Hebrews, and they exerted a great amount of influence over the Hebrew culture, including their religion. Especially during the mix of Assyrian and Babylonian conquests of the Northern Territory know as Israel.

What this means is that Genesis is not really a new story. It is a story that was passed down from one civilization to the next. From many civilizations to many other civilizations. The idea of dark nothingness (the Void), a primordial "substance" of endless potentiality, is common amongst all creation stories. Essentially, a soup - void of anything - yet with the limitless and boundless potentiality for everything.

The modern Big Bang Theory, is basically our own modernized rendition of the same old ancient creation myths. To the ancients, their knowledge was sufficient enough to justify their metaphysical claims. To some of us, the ancients were superstitious and ignorant. That has not changed today. We believe our knowledge is sufficient enough to justify the Big Bang Theory. Thousands of years from now, we will be viewed as ignorant by the great minds of the future. This is just the way the cycle goes. We had Newton, then along came Einstein ... and then, Quantum Physics.

But in actuality, the ancients were far from the ignorant people most believe them to have been. They studied and understood the stars with their naked eyes. They observed nature's cycles and lived their lives in sync with these cycles. Their “superstitions” were merely stories and myths they used as allegories and metaphors to show how nature worked. They anthropomorphized celestial precessions and events. They created gods of thunder, gods of rain, gods of harvest, etc. but knew there was something else much bigger than they could know about, and this was Source/God. The very power behind the sun.

The idea that the world was once "without form and void" and was subsequently born in a flash of light has been passed down for aeons. The ancients might have used mythical stories to try to prove their assertions, but remove the myth, and you're left with a description of creation strikingly similar to the current modern “scientific” version.

The reason the conflict between science and religion exists is because people on both sides of the spectrum are unwilling to make any compromises in their thought. They are stuck in their closed-minded ways. They are also stuck in the literal historical translations rather than the myth and allegory ... which was the intent of the original writers of scripture.

The religious fail to see that the Bible is full of allegories not meant to be taken literally. They say things like, “I know the Bible is true because it says so in the Bible.”

The scientific communities fail to accept that the idea of a Big Bang was already established thousands of years ago by wise ancient sages and hierophants.

The scientific say things like, “The Big Bang and the Creation are completely different. One is backed by scientific fact, and one is just a fairy tale.” They fail to see that these “fairy tales” were backed by the science of their day. They fail to see that while the Creation may not have been verified by “science,” the basic outline of the story is not that much different from the Big Bang. The only real difference is in the vocabulary and language that we use.

Both the scientific and the religious fail to realize that the Bible’s intention is ALLEGORICAL. It uses STORIES/MYTHS to describe REAL EVENTS. It uses the Creation story as an ALLEGORY of how the Universe was created. It uses the story of Jesus as an ALLEGORY of how mankind is the Son of God and how as God's children we can become Christ, the perfect being. Etc. The religious take it too seriously, and the scientific don't take it seriously enough.

The intention here is to help you better understand the fact that science and religion do not have to be enemies. We don't have to settle for one, or the other. We can live with both. That would be the ideal state of things, because balance is always essential to harmony. If we continue to become rabid scientific materialists or fundamentalist creationist Christians who take the Bible only literally, the middle ground will be the most dangerous spot to be in as the two sides battle it out. Seek and you shall find. Knock and the door shall be opened.

PER-SO-NA

PER·SO·NA

(Latin | Noun) pərˈsōnə

“the aspect of someone's character that is presented to or perceived by others ... a role or character adopted by an author or an actor.”

This is the root of the English word PERSON. Your EGO mask. This world is a cosmic play, and you are the Actor.

Who you THINK you are is the sum total of all you have experienced ... yet, you are NOT your experiences. Your true Self is the Witness to all of this. The Observer. The inner Self who is the Watcher. You are not the experience, you are the Experiencer.

Do not take ownership of what you have been through. These experiences are your teachers. They are NOT you. Learn from these experiences and move forward.

The moment you realize this Truth, you will be free. Free to live your life without fear or guilt. Free from the things that keep you stuck in the past and worried about the future.

“You shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free.”
-John 8:32

There is only NOW. The past, has passed. The future, has yet to be created. All there is ... is NOW. The present moment. Enjoy it, learn from it, and simply observe it. Do not judge it, do not label it ... just live it and observe it as you would the birds in the sky, a sailboat in the distance, or a bubbling stream in the forest.

Take off the MASK ... the persona ... and let the real you deep within come to the surface and become One with all that is. The Spirit of Life who many call God, is experiencing life through you, with you, and as you. You are the aperture in which the Universe experiences itself.

RUNNING ON EMPTY - TANKS OF LIFE

RUNNING ON EMPTY - TANKS OF LIFE

Each one of us has invisible fuel tanks. We're born with them. EMOTIONAL tanks, SPIRITUAL tanks, and PHYSICAL tanks, all of them filled with potentiality. But what we don't realize, is that they are NOT refillable. We see this with our own aging and change of appearance. Our tank of youth runs lower and lower. A friend of mine, Forrest, once said when he was 94 ... “getting old is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer you get to the end of the roll, the faster it goes.” Wise words, from a wonderful man.

We have a tendency to use our fuel inadequately. At times, using more than we should. For example, if you go to the gym and work out every day, you're drawing fuel from your physical reserves. If you're going to do this, then do ONLY this. While you're working out, leave your Mind at rest. Don't think about troubles at work, bills you have to pay, whether your prayers will be answered, how to make more money ... just use your physical reserves. Draw only from your physical fuel without also drawing from emotional, intellectual, instinctual, and spiritual reserves. You'll get pretty rotten fuel mileage. It would be like driving two or three SUVS at the same time when you can do with one.

The same process works for other events in your Life. If you're going to draw from your spiritual tank, do it through meditation or contemplative prayer but do it in isolation. Either among nature, or in a quiet room or setting with no distractions. Sometimes, you might want to take a walk. But spend your walking time just taking in nature. Look closely at the trees, birds, flowers, lakes ... don't let your Mind wander to other stuff. Don't waste your thinking fuel, on walking energy. When you relax, then just relax. Don't mix your quiet, resting, downtime with energy reserved for logic, work, or study. Just chill. Go for a ride and empty the stress based thoughts. Let those thoughts come and go. Don't label them or judge them. Don't worry or have concern. Just enjoy the moment.

Listen to the signs that come from within you. If you're mentally tired, give the Mind a break and get some extra sleep, or take a nap once in a while. If you push your body too hard at the gym and you have signs of pain, give it a rest for a couple of days. Be sure to take vacation time, and a 3 or 4 day weekend here and there. Do nothing, or do something. Make it YOUR time.

And while you're at it ... lose the years of guilt and fear that have overburdened you, not just emotionally, but physically as well. So you ate a burger today, so you had a soft drink today, so you had a piece of chocolate. So what? We're animals. We can handle it. Just don't overburden the body's filtration systems. Soft drinks have no nutritional value, but once a week or so, enjoy your soda. Stay away from GMO foods whenever possible ... go organic. But by all means, listen to your body, and the voice within. Balance your activities evenly. Get enough of it all, but don't try and do it all at the same time. You'll burn too much fuel, and there is no way to refill what you arrived here with. Remember, you can't eat a pizza whole, but you can cut it into pieces, and eat it once piece at a time. Life comes in bytes ... one at a time.
