IS GOD SLEEPING

IS GOD SLEEPING

Genesis tells us on the 7th day, God rested. So, ... "I'm done" says God? It's over. everybody out of the pool, put up the yellow tape ... store's closed. Well judging by human history, church history, government affairs, and the general condition of world events, apparently God never never showed back up at the factory on Monday. Was it "rested," or "retired?" Sure seems a lot like the latter doesn't it my friends? Now be honest. Don't tell me you've never asked something like "if there is a God, then where is He?"

Before you can determine what God has or has not been doing for the last 4.5 billion years of the existence of planet Earth, we we have to determine just exactly who or what "God" is to so many people. What is God to you? Do you imagine him to be as Zeus was, long white hair and beard sitting on a throne ruling from the monarchy of a heavenly realm, a He, She, or It; or is God simply each breath that you take in and out, and the sheer existence and sustainer of Life itself. Is God the label we have given to the Source of energy that launched the eternal universe into motion with such a precisely engineered formula that it is regenerative and cyclical guided by universal Laws and ever-expansive design?

Maybe this God looked at the whole thing as a parent assisting kids with their homework. "ok, I'll get it started for you, but you have to finish it." Maybe the entire universe IS what we call God, and we have personified into deity so many of these wonders that we have seen we simply make them or it, Deity ... simply because we didn't have a better answer or explanation at such an early point of human civilization.

Maybe WE are God? Maybe this giant rock that we live in (that's right in, not on) is one giant living Mind/organism that we have labelled the universe, and the entirety of all things are God. After all, children are dying of cancer, wars are prevalent everywhere, there is illness and disease, hunger, starvation, depression, abuse, hatred, natural disasters, and a host of other negative conditions that are far from what was supposed to be "live and live abundant."

Sure, we can blame "Satan/Devil" on these negative ills, but then we have to define who or what Satan actually is. The word simply means "the opposer." So, perhaps, if, as it states in the Bible "no one has seen the face of God," and there is noway possible than I could ever see MY face (unless through a reflection) that perhaps it is I, that am God. Not singularly, but collectively. Perhaps we are ALL God and we are ALL Satan, and we use our free will and creative powers to build a world of goodness, or not-so-goodness. It was Paul who said "we are the body of Christ." And if the Christ (consciousness of God) is the earthly representation of all the goodness (God-ness) that is God, when we go against the default of goodness, it is US who are "the opposer." Perhaps, it is DIVINE-vs-EGO in an ongoing spiritual evolution and involution of universal development?

Whatever it is you think God is, one thing in very clear. Mankind is the reasoning, thinking, planning, and execution creature that brings about causation in this world, along with the natural order of events already set in motion. In many ways, WE are the God of this world. Go(o)d and un-go(o)d. We have the ability to bring about change and keep things evolving to a better future. WE can stop the wars. WE can feed the children. WE can cure disease. We can shelter the homeless. We can do ALL of these things with the assistance and Life-force that we call God providing each and every breath we take, and the interconnection of our consciousness through the Matrix of this single organism we call the universe. WE are the chosen ones to bring about the Kingdom (love, peace, and joy) upon the lower worlds ... Earth. So, Let's do this.

STANDING ON SOLID GROUND

STANDING ON SOLID GROUND

The word ‘Earth’ came from the Anglo-Saxon word ‘erda’ and it’s germanic equivalent ‘erde’ which means ground or soil. Meanings include: the substance of the land surface; soil, the substance of the human body, the surface of the world as distinct from the sky or the sea.

Earth is the only planet name in our solar system that does not come from Greco-Roman mythology. All of the other planets were named after Greek and Roman gods and goddesses.

An important fact is that in Hebrew, the noun “adam” is also the masculine form of the word “adamah” which means “ground” or “earth (red clay).” It is related to the words: adom (red), admoni (ruddy), and dam (blood).

Every civilization has had their way of describing where or what may have sparked all of creation. When we reference the creation account described allegorically in Genesis we find:

Genesis 1:1 - “In the beginning God created heaven, and earth.”

This is best translated as spirit and matter … the unseen and the seen.

Now, look at “heaven” not just as an unseen state within, but as a celestial abode. Ancient cosmology played an important role in the cycles of life and the divine patterns and forms.

The first planet discovered that was not known in ancient times, named for the god of Heaven, husband of Gaia, the Earth, from Latin Uranus, from Greek Ouranos literally "heaven, the sky;" in Greek cosmology, the god who personifies the heavens, father of the titans.

The ancients believed that the Spirit beings or Gods and Angels lived in the unseen realms, the ancients usually called “heaven” and “hell,” which are more accurately described as being "in" or "out" of God's direct presence. Within, and without. Above, and below.

So, in closing; our physical bodies are our spiritual “ helpmate.” In Genesis 2:18 we read “It is not good for the man (mind/mankind) to be alone, I do make to him an helper … as his counterpart.”

We come from the Earth/matter (Mother Earth) and from Spirit/heaven (Father).

Our Spirit grows through our experiences here in Earth (matter/soil). This is Earth School, and we’re in class every moment of every day.

WASHING THE DISCIPLES FEET BY JESUS

WASHING OF THE DISCIPLES FEET BY JESUS

The Deeper Meaning

In the Book of John, there is a story of Jesus being a servant to his Disciples. In fact the book starts off in Chapter 13 at a time just before the Passover Festival. Thee Writer of John continues to say:

"Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end."

Today we're going to go beyond the literal, and into the metaphysical. We're looking for the deeper allegorical message contained within the literal presentation of the storyline. Here is how the verse reads:

"... Jesus got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him."
~John 13:4-5

Then, after he began to wash Peter's feet, Jesus said to Peter:

“You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”

Everyone has seen the literal historical presentation of this event in the ancient scriptures (and in modern movies and books), but now lets reveal what is hidden deeper in the text. This mythos is a representation of “Spirit meeting Matter,” and the purity and cleansing of that union. You see, our FEET are where MAN meets WORLD ... what is always grounded to the Earth/Matter ... the material world of low vibrating energy.

Our feet connect our spiritual Higher-Self, to our physical body. Just like the center of the cross represents the intersection of Spirit and Matter, so this represents a firm standing on solid ground ... while remaining Spiritually and physically clean. Man's “worldly thoughts and actions” must be cleansed in order to approach the Divine Spirit within.

This, is the deeper esoteric meaning in this passage. This shows the willingness of Divine Love to serve. To bring together the upper and the lower, the inner and the outer. As above, so below. Man ... know thyself. Scripture can bring us deep esoteric lessons and messages, want to awaken a Divine Truth from within us. You’ll know it when it hits you. For me, I just call it an AH-HA moment. Its that flash of time just when the inner message hits you, and strikes a vibe of Truth.

ORIGINS OF THE WORD MOTHER

ORIGIN OF THE WORD MOTHER

The English word ‘mother’ was first derived from the Greek ‘mētēr’, whose name was also connected to the Greek goddess Demeter. She is the mother of the gods. Mother in the Greek language, is “Mitéra (μητέρα).” Examples of other such goddesses include Isis, Astarte, and Cybele. The Latin word was a shorter “MATR/MATER” and you will find it everywhere in English when words are motherly.

Have you ever visited the MATERnity ward at a hospital? This is for new “mothers” who are experiencing “MOTHERhood” with a new born infant. Maternity and MATERnal feelings are often not far from MATRimony, the state of being married or the marriage itself after which women often decide to become “mothers” in order to raise a family.

A similar root-word of meter, means the “womb.” Another similar Greek word is “metra” meaning uterus. All our mothers are named after the Goddess of the Earth (Gaia) because she gives us all Life, and from whose dark womb, comes the light of creation. These are all the origins of where we get “matter,” or physical form. There is also MATERial, MATRix, MATRon, MATRiarch, etc. You get the point by now.

The Latins had called their supreme goddess “Magna Mater,” which in English is Great Mother. Their word for love and desire is ‘amo.’  A similar word is the the Hebrew word for mother, ima (אמא, pronounced /ˈimä/). Almah is a term for “mother” in several different languages. During the T’ang Dynasty in China, the word Amah was used as an informal and poetic title for the Taoist goddess Queen Mother of the West. (Wikipedia)

Mother in Old English is mōdor, and in Old Irish, all the words Momo, Muhman, Mamman, Nang, and Ama signify mother. The Dutch say moeder, and German Mutter. In France, the French word for “mother” is “mère”, but most French call their mother “maman.”

Most Russians call their mothers mama, but the formal word is Мать ( Maht’). The Russian goddess of the earth is known as Mati-syra-zemla. The Fijian word for mother is nana, and here in America many people call their grandmothers nana.

There you have it. All our mothers are named after the Mother of the Gods, and the etymology of mother first comes to us from the Greek word meter, which simply means womb. Our word for physical life, or matter, is also rooted in the same etymology.

Also, be mindful that the term used for a school you once attended is “Alma Mater” ... which literally means “nurturing Mother.” And now you know.
