CAPTAIN OF YOUR SHIP

CAPTAIN OF YOUR SHIP

You, are the Captain of your ship (vessel, body, Mind). Before we look at these responsibilities, lets briefly look at the duties of an actual ship's Captain. You'll better understand the importance of your personal position physically, mentally, and spiritually, by using this analogy.

The Captain of a ship holds the ultimate authority and responsibility for the vessel and all those on board. Although crew members may have specific duties, such as navigation, maintenance or staff management, the ultimate responsibility for all activities on board begins and ends with the Captain.

Concerning navigation, the Captain is responsible for getting the ship to where it is supposed to be, and when it is supposed to be there. They study maps and charts to determine the most convenient and least dangerous route to a destination.

The ship's Captain is in charge of operating or piloting the ship. The Captain is an expert on the specific motions and speeds required to maneuver the ship safely. Once at sea, the complete responsibility for every movement that the ship makes lies with the Captain.

The Captain also inspects the ship inside and out to ensure that it's completely seaworthy and safe for passengers and crew. The Captain must be intimately familiar with all regulations and is responsible for ensuring that the ship adheres to every one of them.

"You are like a captain navigating a ship... You must give the right orders, thoughts and images to your subconscious which controls and governs all your experiences."

~Joseph Murphy

Now that we have a brief overview of the responsibilities and duties of an actual ship's Captain, its time to apply these properties to our own Self. Specifically, our Mind ... both conscious and subconscious. We have the capacity and ability to navigate our experiences through the use of our Mind ... both aspects, conscious and subconscious.

For starters, consider the functions of this one principle, yet two aspects of Mind. The objective and subjective, the dominant and subservient.

Your conscious Mind is your active Mind. You use it to judge your environment and to make choices and decisions based on these judgments. It continually identifies, compares, and analyzes all of the information you perceive so that it can make decisions about what is relevant to you.

Your subconscious mind is your passive mind. It’s always awake because it regulates all of your bodily functions, and it records and stores your every experience, even when you’re not consciously paying attention. Neuroscientists have confirmed that 95% of your brain activity takes place beyond your conscious awareness, in your subconscious Mind. Further, research reveals that your subconscious Mind makes decisions about how you choose to feel or act before your conscious mind even perceives the need to make a decision.

Your subconscious Mind is impersonal because it passively accepts your habitual conscious thoughts without question ... be they true or not. In other words, it doesn’t judge any of your conscious thoughts, in the same way that your computer doesn’t judge the documents you save onto your hard drive. All of the thoughts you think in your conscious Mind filter down into your subconscious Mind and leave an impression. The more often you think certain thoughts, the heavier the impression you leave on your subconscious Mind.

The way your conscious thoughts imprint upon and mold your subconscious Mind determines your personality traits and how you respond to your Life experiences. This is because your habitual thoughts train your subconscious Mind to create associations and shortcuts between all of the thoughts, feelings, and experiences it has stored. You’re able to perform tasks without having to apply conscious thought, such as riding a bike or getting dressed, because the impressions your habitual conscious thoughts make, condition your subconscious Mind to act automatically. It learns how to perform the task and takes control so that you can perform it automatically.

Your habitual conscious thoughts condition your subconscious Mind to identify and classify everything it perceives in a specific way. It learns your patterns and listens to you. For example: if you habitually think about how uncomfortable you feel around strangers and imprint this into your subconscious Mind, these thoughts turn into a belief. And since belief is critical, your subconscious Mind concludes that every new person threatens your sense of safety and comfort: “Strangers make me uncomfortable, this is a new person, therefore I should feel uncomfortable.”

“Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny."
~Lao Tzu

Now, back to being the Captain of your ship. The conscious part of your Mind is the Captain. The subconscious part of the Mind is the crew. Whenever you make a conscious decision, you are commanding your crew, ordering them what to do. The crew members do not argue or reason with what you tell them; they just carry out the orders. Even if they cant see the conditions, they take you at your word. That is the beauty of the subconscious Mind, that it just follows orders and carries them out. However, it will only work if the Captain believes in what he or she is saying.

If the Captain is saying one thing and thinking another, the subconscious Mind can discern this and will get a mixed signal or a command that is ambiguous. Therefore, there will be no action until clarity is reached. Belief and feeling is what it is tuned to. Remember, the crew just follow orders, and if they have an indecisive leader, they will give indecisive results and the ship will get stuck.

Anywhere you are, you will be the one who is in control the destiny of the ship. If you think positive thoughts, your subconscious Mind will start to give you positive results. If you think negative thoughts, your subconscious Mind will start to give you negative results. If you don’t think at all, then your subconscious Mind will start to generate random thoughts which will lead you to nowhere.

A Captain must be firm in what they believe, or else the crew - and the direction of the ship - will be in trouble. If the Captain has a certain belief, then the crew members will follow the belief of the Captain, whether it is good or bad, moral or immoral, positive or negative, proactive or reactive, and so on. The Subconscious does not judge, and it accepts everything coming from the conscious Mind whether it be true or not. As long as your conscious Mind beliefs it to be true, the Subconscious will accept it, and begin to manifest results.

No matter what, the subconscious will always carry out the orders of the conscious Mind, along with all of its other responsibilities, such as keeping you alive and healing your body. You are the Captain of your ship. The direction and destiny of where the ship goes, will depend on how well you can command the crew members of the ship. Feeling is key. Belief is key. Vibrational energy (thought) is key. "As a man thinks, it is done unto him."

WHAT WE FEAR HAS COME UPON US

WHAT WE FEAR HAS COME UPON US

The Hebrew Scriptures Book of Job, is often counted among the masterpieces of world literature. It is found in the third section of the canon known as the Ketuvim (“Writings”). Scholars generally agree that it was written between the 7th and 4th centuries BCE, with the 6th century BCE as the most likely period ... Around 400 years before Moses in a land east of Edam. The Pentateuch (first five books of Moses) would have been written after the time of the Patriarchs, so Job would be, by default, the oldest book included in the Bible collection. The theme is based on the eternal problem of unmerited suffering, and deals with Job's attempts to understand the sufferings that engulf him.

So, for this topic, we go directly to the Book of Job, verse 3:25:

"For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, And what I dreaded has happened to me."
~KJV

Now, there is a huge metaphysical message here ... a deep esoteric meaning of great importance. This verse is dealing with the power of the subconscious Mind and its ability to bring forth into creative form all that you imprint onto it. The subconscious Mind answers your call, no matter good or bad, for it is non-judgmental and acts upon your desires every single time ... with every single thought. This is the power of creation. As a man thinks in his heart, it is done unto him. As a man thinketh, he is. These words come from not only the Biblical texts, but from the science of quantum physics and psychology. We now know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that ALL of our experiences in the physical realm, begin in Mind ... the realm of the unseen.

Whatever you consciously implant into your subconscious Mind from you conscious Mind, will be accepted. The subconscious Mind doesn't know the difference whether something is true, or is untrue. It is there to serve you. Whatever the conscious Mind (male) impregnates the subconscious Mind (female) with, a child (manifested thought) will be born. This is Universal Law. Cause and Effect. This is the creation process for all that is. You and I are co-Creators in this vast universe. We are connected through the Matrix of Consciousness (the Field) that connects everything as ONE. The story of Job highlights this process. Whatever he had thought about, came about.

As with all scripture, there are deeper meanings hidden beneath and beyond the surface stories that are being presented. The design of this type of writing always contains a Truth, and a lesson to be had. We must look beyond the ink and paper. Beyond the stories, fables, allegories, and myth if we are to learn the message that was intended. The message here, is that your thoughts create your reality.

Thought power is the key to creating your present reality. Everything you perceive in the physical world has its origin in the invisible, inner world of your thoughts and beliefs. To master your destiny, you must learn to control the nature of your dominant, habitual thoughts. By doing so you will be able to attract into your Life experience anything you desire with exact precision as you come to know the Truth that your thoughts create your reality.

For Every outside effect, there is an inner cause. Every effect you see in your outside or physical world has a very specific cause which has its origin in your inner or mental world of Mind. This is the essence of the power of thought. In other words, the conditions and circumstances of your Life are a result of your thoughts and beliefs. Every aspect of your Life, from the state of your finances to the state of your health and your relationships, is accurately revealing your thoughts and your beliefs. They are made in the image of Mind/God.

The creative and attractive power of any particular thought is determined by how often you have that thought, and by the strength of the FEELINGS or EMOTIONS associated with it. The more energy you give to a particular thought, the greater its power to attract its corresponding circumstance into your physical world. Where you attention goes, energy grows. When you focus on "bad" things/thinks, the subconscious Mind will bring them to fruition. The same process works for "good" things/thinks. Be very careful of your thoughts, for your reality will soon follow. Job's fearful thoughts, came upon him.

'There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so."
~Shakespeare: Hamlet

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
~Romans 12:2

Be transformed by the re-new-ing (right thinking) of your Mind. You have the power of the universe within you. You have the Kingdom of God within you. You have all that ever was, all that is, and all that will ever be ... right there inside of you. Use your creative power wisely, and for the benefit of all. Learn from the story of Job and his seemingly endless suffering.

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
~Philippians 4:8

Set your Mind in the right direction, and the better things you desire will be brought forth in your experience ... on the "Screen of Space." Whatever you think, you will project into your reality. In order to truly manifest the goodness that you desire, FEEL that thing, feel the EMOTIONS of that thing. You must have more than just a desire FOR it ... you must have a desire FROM it. As if it already exists. The subconscious Mind will act upon the vibratory thoughts and feelings that you present to it ... the universal language of vibration. No matter if it is currently true or not. Feel it as if it already is. Your imagination is the garden of Life. Plant your seeds wisely, and selectively.

BE TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND

BE TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND

There is much Wisdom to be found in this one powerful line of scripture from the New Testament Bible, Romans 12:2. We're going to look at a few translations first, before delving into the deep and transformative esoteric messages contained within this passage.

From the King James Version ...

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
~KJV

And from the New Living Translation ...

"Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."
~NLT

And from the Amplified Bible ...

And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].
~AB

Now, there are TWO immediate takeaways. One, is to not conform to this world, and two ... to transform your Mind. The ways of this world, are your current patterns. The way you think. How you think, manifests as your emotions, feelings, and physical condition. If you want something to change, you have to change your perspective, and your thinking habits. Wayne Dyer said: "change the way you look at things, and the things you look at will change." You need a new perspective, not the same familiar patterns.

Neville Goddard said: "To be transformed, the whole basis of your thoughts must change. But your thoughts cannot change unless you have new ideas, for you think from your ideas. All transformation begins with an intense, burning desire to be transformed ... set a desire.

Then you must make your future dream a present fact. You do this by assuming the feeling of your wish fulfilled. By desiring to be other than what you are, you can create an ideal of the person you want to be and assume that you are already that person. If this assumption is persisted in, until it becomes your dominant feeling, the attainment of your ideal is inevitable.

Therefore, your attitude should be one in which having desired to express a higher state – you alone accept the task of incarnating this new and greater value of yourself. In giving birth to your ideal, you must bear in mind that the methods of mental and spiritual knowledge are entirely different.

You know a thing mentally by looking at it from the outside, by comparing it with other things, by analyzing it and defining it, by thinking of it; whereas you can know a thing spiritually only by becoming it ... only by thinking FROM it ... and not just OF it. You must be the thing itself and not merely talk about it or look at it. You must in becoming a new person be willing to die to your present self. Here are some scriptural references for ousting the old man, and ushering in the new man:

"He (Spirit) must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less."
~John 3:30

"And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him."
~Colossians 3:10

"For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self?"
Luke 9:24-25

"Therefore if any man be in Christ (the Divine Spirit within), he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
~2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, to incarnate a new and greater value of yourself, you must assume that you already are what you want to be and then live by faith in this assumption – which is not yet incarnate in the body of your life – in confidence that this new value or state of consciousness will become incarnated through your absolute belief of the assumption that you are that which you desire to be. The Divine (Christ Consciousness) lay dormant within all mankind. It must be called upon, resurrected from within. Much as the Disciples had to go into the boat and wake up Jesus to calm the storm, so too we have to go within our own vessel and wake up the Christ.

In the Bible scripture at the very top of this writing, we are told to transform our Mind. But in reality, its more than a transformation. It is a metamorphosis. It isn't merely a transformation from one thing to another, it is a metamorphosis from one thing into something greater ... beyond and more beautiful.

KJV Dictionary Definition: transform
TRANSFORM', v.t. L. trans and forma.
1. To change the form of; to change the shape or appearance; to metamorphose; as a caterpillar transformed into a butterfly.

From the Greek "meta" (higher, after, and beyond) and "morphosis" (change into another form). Also, the Greek word "ομορφιά" (omorphia) means beauty. So, by changing your thoughts, and focusing your attention of what you DO want, rather than thinking or taking about what you DO NOT want, you can transform/morph the outcome of your emotions and feelings, into a physical reality in the here and now. Your imagination is the instrument, the means, by which your redemption from fear, sickness, and poverty is effected.

"All that befalls a man – all that is done by him, all that comes from him – happens as a result of his state of consciousness. A man's consciousness is all that he thinks and desires and loves, all that he believes is true and consents to. That is why a change of consciousness is necessary before you can change your outer world."
~Neville Goddard

Remember, you MUST feel that which you desire to manifest into form. Feeling, is the secret. You cant just desire FOR something ... you have to desire FROM it. If its health, FEEL yourself as being healthy right now, in this moment. If its a new car you desire, FEEL it in the here and now as if you already have. Hands on the steering wheel, feel the seat, look through the mirrors and KNOW that you already have it. It is imperative that we feel our desires. The language of the universe, and your imagination, is FEELING ... the vibration you send out in waves and particles into the realm of the unsee and unformed. The language of the YOUniverse is feeling and vibration.

Whatever you consciously implant into your subconscious Mind from you conscious Mind, will be accepted. The subconscious Mind does not judge, cares not what is good or un-good, and doesn't know the difference whether something is true, or is untrue.

So, do not conform to the ways of THIS world (current situation/reality), but be transformed by the re-new-ing (right thinking) of your Mind. You have the power of the universe within you. You have the Kingdom of God within you. You have all that ever was, all that is, and all that will ever be ... right there inside of you. Use your creative power wisely, and for the benefit of all. The world is ours. We haven't inherited the world from our ancestors, we are borrowing it from our great, great, great-grandchildren. Think responsibly.

YOUR CONSCIOUSNESS IS THE GOD WITHIN YOU

YOU CONSCIOUSNESS IS THE GOD WITHIN YOU

Your consciousness is the God within you, the only creative power, because it’s the invisible part of you, and it emanates from Source Energy throughout the universe. It’s your thoughts and emotions ... your feelings ... which create your destiny. These are elements of the Divine Spark of God, and your consciousness is the sum total of your conscious and subconscious thinking ... your feeling, and believing. All Life is connected through the unseen web of the Matrix of Consciousness, or the Field.

You first focus your attention and go within your own consciousness, within your Mind. There is where you claim to be what you want to be, your desires, your wishing well, and the Spirit within you will honour, validate, and execute it. The conscious Father/male Mind and subconscious Mother/female Mind will bring forth the child of your creation. The New Testament Bible states the following:

"But you, when you pray, go into your room (closet), and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly."
~Matthew 6:6

Go within your Mind (room/closet), shut the door (of your senses), and pray to your Father (creative/conscious), which is in secret. The Father is the creative power, it’s the progenitor. It’s the Life Principle within you. It’s the source of all things. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” The Word is the thought expressed. The Divine Feminine is represented by your subconscious Mind ... the womb from where all of creation emanates.

"All things are possible for one who believes.”
~Mark 9:23

"For as he thinks in his heart, so is he."
~Proverbs 23:7

Man must FEEL it in his heart, not just in Mind. The FEELING is the key. The thought and the manifestation are one. Thoughts are things, and what you FEEL, you attract, and what you imagine, you become. The birth of quantum physics made it clear that light is made of tiny, indivisible units, or quanta, of energy, which we call photons.

"Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light."
~Genesis 1:3

This, is the light of consciousness. English physicist Thomas Young's experiments were en-light-ening to say the least, He found that light is made of tiny, indivisible units, or quanta, of energy, which we call photons. Young's experiment, when done with single photons or even single particles of matter (such as electrons and neutrons), is a mystery to behold, raising fundamental questions about the very nature of what was deemed to be our reality. It can also be shown that the quantum world is influenced by human consciousness, giving our Mind an agency and a place in the metaphysics of the universe. It is US, that create our reality. Collectively, through the power of Mind, we can create perfection here in this Life experience. We ... can bring Heaven, on Earth.

THE I AM PRESENCE WITHIN MANKIND

THE I AM PRESENCE WITHIN MANKIND

As with many of my writings, I will begin this one with a very important element of ancient scripture found in the Book of Exodus in the Old Testament:

"And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you."
~Exodus 3:13-14

Many of us are familiar with the literal and historical presentation and interpretation of this specific scriptural verse, but for now, we will go beyond the letter into the esoteric and metaphysical deeper meaning of this very important verse and teaching. "I AM" means awareness, being, Life principle, unconditioned consciousness. The Hindus use the word Aum (Om), it’s the same thing. It means the limitless one. It means the holy one who inhabited the eternity, whose name is perfect. Further, Om (Aum) is also described as a representation of the holy trinity of Hindu gods – Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, and in the Upanishads (an ancient Hindu text) as the essence of Brahman (the ultimate reality). Notice the similarity of Brahman and Abraham?

Anyway, stay with me on this. When you say "I AM" you are stating a pure, unconditioned being. It is the creative power. It deals with the infinity of God. Another way of explaining it is this: “I” means the infinite, “A” comes from “Ab,” meaning the father (Abba), and “M” means the mother (Mater). In other words, the infinite is the father and mother that is God, the male and female principle. The ancient Hebrews said that God, in order to create, divided himself into two, male and female. This is the creative principal.

Now, onto the concept of "Saviour" in a different light. Quoting Dr. Joseph Murphy: "The realization of your desire is your saviour. If you were lost in the woods, divine guidance or the light of God would illumine your pathway and reveal to you the way out. If you’re hungry, food is your saviour. If you’re dying of thirst in the desert, water is your saviour. If you’re in prison, freedom is your saviour. If you’re sick, health is your saviour." The answer is always WITHIN YOU, and the saving consciousness is within you, because God grows in you. “I rejoice in God, my saviour,” the Bible says. Knowledge and knowingness (gnosis) saves you from ignorance. Hosea 4:6 clearly states: "My people perish for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge..."

“Ye shall not need to fight in this battle. Set yourself, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord.”
~2 Chronicles 20:17

The word salvation is an old Hindu term meaning "a solution to your problem, the answer to your prayer." Salvation means to be “saved.” As we explored above ... saved from what? From fear, ignorance, and superstition. You’re saved from sickness, disease, lack, limitation of all kinds. Why? Because you’re aware of the God presence within you and your capacity to contact it. When you call upon it, it answers you. It will be with you in times of trouble. It will set you on high because you known its name. Its name is nature, the way that it works.

You’re created in the image of God (think imagination), you’re male and female too. Your conscious Mind is the male, and your subconscious is the female. Whatever you impregnate or impress upon the subconscious, the female aspect of yourself, the subconscious brings forth, good, bad, or indifferent. This is the "child" of creation. And yet, it is all-inclusive ... ALL of creation.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Every man is God walking the earth.” In other words, God became man by believing Himself to BE man. Man is God, in limitation. Therefore you were born with certain talents and abilities. You’re unique, there’s no one in all the world like you, because you are you. Everyone else is already taken.

You can also attach negative things to this I AM. Remember that whatever you attach to I AM with feeling and emotion, you will become. You can say, “I am dumb. I am inferior. I am rejected. I am no good. I am sick. I am frustrated. I am lonesome. I am unhappy. I am poor.” All these things will come to pass as long as you continue to repeat them. By doing this, these thoughts, words, and feelings, will sink down from your conscious Mind into your subconscious Mind, and just like seeds, they will grow after their time, and after their own kind. So be sure that you do not attach anything to I AM that is not honourable, Godlike, and dignified ... be sure it is instead, always positive and beneficial. Your state of consciousness is what you think, believe, and act upon. It’s your feelings, your emotions. It’s what you imagine yourself to be. Choose wisely.

Our Three Minds

Our Three Minds

Each if us has essentially three minds that we juggle - CONSCIOUS, SUBCONSCIOUS, and UNCONSCIOUS. We may want to add on the Superconscious mind, or Divine Mind for spirituality sake.

A lot of different literature uses different terms. Which one is which? Which one is correct? Are they the same or different? What is the difference between the subconscious mind and the unconscious mind? Even some experts in the field of psychology struggle with defining the terms and they are often, mistakenly, used interchangeably.

The mind can be divided into three systems: the CONSCIOUS mind, the SUBCONSCIOUS mind, and the UNCONSCIOUS mind.
The CONSCIOUS MIND is you AWARENESS at the present moment.

You are aware of something on the outside as well as some specific mental functions happening on the inside. For example, you are aware of your environment, your breathing, or the chair that you are sitting on. It is your awake-ness.

The SUBCONSCIOUS MIND or the preconscious mind consists of accessible information. Kind of like RAM on a computer.
You can become aware of this information once your direct your attention to it. Think of this as memory recall. You walk down the street to your house without consciously needing to be alert to your surroundings. You can talk on the cell phone and still arrive home safely. You can easily bring to consciousness the subconscious information about the path to your home.

You can also easily remember phone numbers that you frequently use. It is possible that some of what might be perceived to be unconscious becomes subconscious, and then conscious (e.g. a long-forgotten childhood memory suddenly emerges after decades). We can assume that some unconscious memories need a strong, specific trigger to bring them to consciousness; whereas, a subconscious memory can be brought to consciousness more easily.

The UNCONSCIOUS MIND, consisting of the primitive, instinctual wishes as well as the information that we cannot access. Everything thats been stored since we were born. Everything.

Although our behaviors might indicate the unconscious forces that drive them, we don’t have easy access to the information stored in the unconscious mind. During our childhood, we acquired countless memories and experiences that formed who we are today. However, we cannot recall most of those memories. They are unconscious forces (beliefs, patterns, subjective maps of reality) that drive our behaviors. They have the power to manifest into form. And in many cases, we wish they hadn’t.
