Spirit Guides And Angelic Beings
Let's begin by asking the obvious ... what is the difference between Spirit Guides, Guardian Angels, and the Archangels? Before we begin to answer this question, I ask that you drop all of your preconceived notions through your various religious affiliations and bear with me for just a little bit. I would also ask that you understand that the word "angel" comes from the Greek and means "messenger." At a deeper level of esotericism, it can also be an "angle" of light, just as you may see projecting through a prism.
Here are some helpful definitions as I’ve come to understand them after years of research through books, people, documents, spirituality, and the see and unseen realms of this universe.
#1 - Higher Self:
We have to start with your Higher-Self. That's the big "S" ... Divine ... not the little "s" ego. Your Higher-Self is who you are when you’re in the ether ... the unseen fiber of consciousness, sky, heaven, beyond physical.
Higher-Self is the real you when the veil is not drawn across your memory. From this place, your Higher-Self knows and remembers everything pertaining to you, your past, your future, your goals, etc. When you experience an "ah-ha" moment, it is not as if you have learned something new, it is your HS helping you to re-member what you already know. #2 - Spirit Guides:
Before you incarnate into this life experience, you get together with your higher self and determine what sort of events you will experience, who you will meet, challenges you will face, etc. A meeting of the mind so to speak. It’s like putting together a schedule of courses that you're going to take while you're here ... stuff you want to learn this time around.
Your Higher-Self then selects spirits who are willing and able to guide you through those events or experiences ... and they sign up for this adventure as well. These guides will come in and out of your life as these events happen. Some Spirit Guides will hang around you your entire life, some will come and go regularly, and some will pop in for an event and leave.
They’re busy ... because watching over an incarnated human takes work and effort, so it’s not a job that is given, or taken lightly. It's very serious business. These are not your deceased ancestors we are speaking of here. These are spirits that have expertise, knowledge, or experience in handling the situations you are planning for yourself to encounter while incarnated.
If you want to connect directly with your Spirit Guides, you most certainly are able to. It’s like visiting your teachers and professors during office hours. And, you should take advantage of the opportunity to make contact.
#3 - Guardian Angels:
Everyone has angels watching out for them. Several of them in fact. Angels are not in the same category as Spirit Guides. Angels do not incarnate, whereas a Spirit Guide has the ability to take human form again, if they chose to, or need to do so.
There are thousands ( a multitude) of angels and some are assigned to you just like guides. They are especially good at comforting you during your rough times. If you meditate, you may detect them around you. There are Mediums who can actually see them. And they are usually around when you are going through a crisis. They tend to intervene when disaster is about to strike and you will need some serious help.
#4 - Archangels:
These are the dream team ... the best of the best. They are as close to God/Source Energy as you can get, without actually being Source Energy. They have great power and can spread widely over a large group of people ... omnipresent. Archangels can be in all places at all times. They are not bound to one person at any given time.
Their energy is simply awesome, their vibration extremely high, their frequency extremely high. They are as close to God/Source as spirit can get. Some examples of named archangels are Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel. Don’t get too caught up on the names, physical descriptions, or religious and historical significance. They are wonderfully uplifting, and awesomely terrifying in their power. You will also notice that THESE names are directly related to Biblical Hebrew and that all the names end with "EL." This name was given to God, the I AM, by the northern tribes of IsraEL. The southern tribes had their God "YHWH" or Yahweh/Jehovah. This, is for another day and time.
#5 - Celestial Beings:
Although this is not part of the original question or topic, I wanted to mention celestial beings because you don’t want to not know about them. These are beings on other planes of existence. Still here ... universally, as all things are, but in other realms.
Their motives can change, but are at a high vibration. They might be physical beings or non-corporeal beings, or somewhere in between. We’ll explore them in more detail in another article.
Sometimes people who channel ... are channeling celestial beings. They will present information that may or may not be true, and the information is presented with varying intentions. You want to watch out for them in the sense that they have an agenda that may or may not coincide with your own.
“There are many more things in Heaven (Spirit/Father) and Earth (Matter/Mother) than you can conceive of. This is just the tip of the iceberg as to what’s out there ... which is technically "within." Be kind to each of them. You never know when you might need their assistance ... or a "message" (angel) that they may have for you.
